Euregionale 2008, Euregio Maas- Rhein, EU
Assisted the EU in establishing a new partnership between Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany to regenerate a post-industrial landscape of a former coalmining region. Worked closely with more than 20 city councils to develop a common set of trans-national development strategies and to start a regeneration programme with a series of iconic artscape, landart and architectural projects. Worked out a comprehensive master plan, including a communication and branding system, a regional management structure, and political charter. Jump-started the first 22 projects, implementation ongoing.

Masterplanning
Hainan Development Strategy and Haikou Masterplan, Hainan
Developed a comprehensive development vision for Hainan Island aimed at enhancing the quality of growth whilst protecting natural resources, encompassing issues such as industrial and tourism development, urban form and layout, infrastructure and ecological environment construction. Invented a new urbanism model and identity for Haikou, turning the future city into an environmentally-friendly metropolitan seaside location with a natural habitat for a high diversity of species and a unique spatial city structure.
