The ‘Ceremonial Entrance’ besides the Rem Koolhaas designed Qatar Foundation Headquarters building is a guard house re-imaged. The brief required a landmark gateway into the Qatar Foundation Campus as a strong statement of arrival whilst providing all the necessary advanced security features of a typical security checkpoint. The guardhouses have been integrated in three towering lighting structures framing the ceremonial entrance to the Campus. They are a ‘prelude’ and ‘ode’ to the Ceremonial Court featuring the intricate lattice work of their pergola structures designed by Arata Isozaki.
