The new proposed ‘Miami Wave’ signature bridge pays homage to the beautiful powerful formations of the city’s Ocean waves. It liberates land previously constrained by a low-level viaduct structure and earth embankments that separated the city of Miami for decades like a derelict infrastructure corridor. The new bridge will provide a canopy roof over a new urban plaza fronting the Performing Arts Center that reconnects the Miami Design District with the Museum Park and Downtown at ground level. The new proposed Approach Structures will also create a new quality public space underneath the roadway that provides a new urban linear park with community recreational facilities. A project that rejoins the previously disconnected communities and supposed to jump start a wider urban regeneration process in the area.
